Bryce Canyon
Well, Daddy and Older Son woke up early this morning to fish. First thing Older Son said when he got back? “That’s only the second time Daddy has out fished me.” Daddy caught two 12″ brown trouts! All day Older Son kept thinking about fishing – he even went to bed early tonight so he’s ready for tomorrow! Can’t be outfished by Daddy!
The other 3 kids and I slept in (luxury) and made biscuits and gravy for breakfast. YUM! It is more of a challenge cooking in here with only our minimal camping equipment but I got it done. And, it was delicious. The next time we have a chalet reunion, this is what I’m making! 😉
We visited Bryce Canyon NP in the afternoon. The Hoodoos look like Cheetos, according to the kids. Amazing. The contrast of the red earth, green trees, and clear blue skies is striking. We walked from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point and then part of the Navajo Loop trail. We saw Thor’s Hammer, 3 Princesses, and Sinking Ship.
It was a great day. We ate ice cream, grilled, dinner, star gazed, and enjoyed each other’s company. Pretty close to perfect, Daddy says. We are truly blessed.
